With a commitment to his specialty and to his community, Dr. Shocket leads the Continuing Medical Education program for Capital Digestive Care, where he also serves on the Board of Managers and as medical director for the Washington Gastroenterology division. He is a member of the Medical Advisory Board of the District of Columbia chapter of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and a volunteer physician for So Others Might Eat (S.O.M.E.), where he received the Outstanding Volunteer Award in 1994 and the Caring Award in 2002.

In addition to spending time with his family, Dr. Shocket enjoys playing tennis.
