Dr. Michael M. Phillips is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and did Fellowship Training in Gastroenterology and Liver Disease at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and Yale University. He was chief of Gastroenterology at the Malcolm Grow hospital at Andrews Air Force base in Washington, D.C. He has been in private practice in Washington D.C. since the mid 1970s. He has been a consultant to the Social Security Administration, and an Editorial Consultant and Contributor to Oakstone Publications Educational (Reviews in Gastroenterology) in Birmingham, Ala., from 1989 to present.
Dr. Phillips professional interests are in colon cancer screening, esophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcer disease and the diagnosis and treatment of celiac disease (sprue).
