Dr. Julio Salcedo completed his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and a minor in Spanish Literature in 1986. He received his Doctor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1990. Dr. Salcedo completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowships in both Clinical Pharmacology and Gastroenterology and Advanced Therapeutics at Georgetown University Medical Center. He served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School from 1998 to 2001. He serves as a Clinical Instructor for Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Salcedo is a member of the American College of Physicians, American Gastroenterological Association and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

He has been a physician consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank Health Unit since 2002 and was recently appointed as the unit’s Medical Director in 2007. Dr. Salcedo’s professional interests include irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer screening and pancreaticobiliary diseases with specialization in ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound.
